Welcome to Epi(demiology) Matters - epidemiological news that matters most.

My name is Dr. Becky Dawson. I’m an Epidemiologist, Disease Detective, Clinical & Community Health Researcher, Professor, and Erie News Now contributor, as well as a mom (of a ballerina and lego enthusiast), wife, reader, swimmer, and podcast lover. I have a PhD in epidemiology (from the U of Maryland, Baltimore) and an MPH from Emory University.

My goal is to create healthy communities. I use my experience and education in epidemiology and public health to bring the epidemiological news that matters most to you - in a form that you can both understand and apply to prevent the spread of COVID-19. You’re welcome to think of me as Your Epidemiologist Mama — offering advise, sharing stories, summarizing data, and explaining the decisions I am making to keep my own kids safe and healthy.

Sign up now so you don’t miss the first issue.

In the meantime, tell your friends!

xoxo,
