IMAGINE the Next Normal
Introducing a 10-part series focused on creating a healthier and safer future based on lessons learned throughout the pandemic
Over the weekend I wrote about transitioning into the next normal —
“I am stepping into the next stage of the pandemic — the NEXT NORMAL — having learned so much during the past two years. I cannot go back to 2019 normal because I have changed, grown, and learned so much. I am looking to the NEXT NORMAL (read: my future) with eyes focused on creating health communities.
I want to be the best, most authentic version of myself as we move into the future.
Returning to normal is unacceptible.
The NEXT NORMAL is full of hope, new knowledge, stronger friendships, new-found skills, and a deep appreciation for the beauty all around me.”
I have been overwhelmed and encouraged by all of the positive responses to my post.
Thank you.
After rereading my post and thinking about all of the comments and encouraging notes I received, I realized I was just scratching the surface of what is in store in our next normal.
There is so much to share and write about.
Imagining the next normal has unleashed a spirit of creativity and creation within me.
And so beginning tomorrow, I will be releasing the first in a 10-part blog series focused on imagining this thing called the NEXT NORMAL. In this series, I will share my hopes and dreams for the future as well as the struggles and failures I encountered during the pandemic. And so much more!
The series will cover —
Our physical health and access to health care
Our mental health
Our social & emotional health
Community health
Health equity
Redefining health
Parenting
Education
Public health services
My next steps as an epidemiologist
My hope is that sharing my hopes, dreams, and vision with you will inspire and encourage you to imagine a healthier and safer next normal/future.
Be sure to subscribe to get each post in your email box.
And be sure to share the series with your friends and family.
Together we can dream and then create a beautiful next normal.
