I have to disagree with the statement that thimerosal does no harm. My children got all their Vaccines but after my daughter got the 3 shot hep b series in the late 1990s she developed severe dermatologic issues. We didn't figure out what was going on until skin allergy testing revealed she was allergic to thimerosal. I was told that it was a common allergen in children. I had to stop all vaccines for her and get a school waiver for a couple of years until they started producing thimerosal free vaccines. The CDC would not accept an adverse report since we were past the 6 month cut off for reporting when we discovered this( at 9 months post vaccines she was still having issues). In fact they flat out denied that it could have caused a problem.

Just to be clear -- I did NOT say that "thimerosal does no harm." I wrote that thimerosal does not cause autism.

I am sorry that your daughter is allergic to thimerosal. Just so you know, the number of people with an actual allergy is really small; however, the number of individuals with a false positive scratch test for the allergy is wicked high (because thimerosal is in so many products, including make-up and contact lens solution).

I do not understand why the CDC would not accept your report of an adverse event in the 1990s... You can report it via VAERS today (https://vaers.hhs.gov/faq.html). However, do note that the Hep B vaccine does not contain thimerosal.
